Obituary of J Harold Bryant

J. Harold Bryant, 85, husband of the late Nancy Lucille Brown Bryant, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 3, 2022. Mr. Bryant was born in Fountain Inn to the late John Thomas Bryant and Nannie Campbell Bryant. He was a 40-year member of Crestview Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and as the church caretaker. He retired after 25 years of service with United McGill Corporation. Harold enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He was a huge NASCAR fan; but his greatest joy came in being a caregiver for his family. Surviving are two daughters, Karen Taylor and Susan Gochioa with husband Jack; a sister, Nancy Smith; seven grandchildren, Hope Madden with husband Stephen, Mandy Simmons, Keely Powers with husband Brandon, Lynsie Taylor, Logan Taylor, Jeffrey McAlister with wife Kendra, and Christopher Miller with wife Audrey; nineteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Danny Brashier and family, Blanche Robertson, and Kenny Miller; and two sisters-in-law, Lora Alexander and Connie Cox. He was predeceased by a daughter, Becky Woods; six brothers, Billy Bryant, John Lewis Bryant, Milton Bryant, Wilton Bryant, Tommy Bryant and Merle Bryant; two sisters, Lillie Mae Babb and Alice Tucker; two grandchildren, Kristy Cumbie and Daniel Woods and a great-grandson, Hunter Madden. A Celebration of Harold’s Life will be 12 noon Wednesday at Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Mark McCall. Burial will be in Cannon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Crestview Baptist Church, 100 Meadowbrook Drive, Fountain Inn, SC 29644; or to the Greenville Alzheimer’s Association, 301 University Ridge, Greenville, SC 29601.
