Sue, Chandler and Ashton, I just learned of David's passing and my deepest condolences to each of you. I worked with David for 1.5 years at Kenco and he was a blessing to work with and he truly loved each of you. Happy is the greatest single word I could use to sum up David. It was an honor to know him and though he will be missed greatly, he is with the Lord and he will be waiting to meet each of you in heaven with open arms and that incredible smile he always had when those days come. He touched the life of each person he met. God bless you all. Barry Maxwell

He was the nicest, kindest person I have ever known! Those words really don’t do David’s character justice. You hear people say “he or she is so nice” or “they are so kind,” but David was truly more than that. I really have no words to describe his character that adequately describe him. He was one in a million! He was genuine, he could start a conversation with anyone! His heart for others was huge, his smile was welcoming and he was a man of GREAT honor! He really was the real deal. He loved God and his family and everything he did was selfless, always putting others before himself. When we were younger, he was my buddy, we were like glue in the summertime. Our hearts are broken.
He was more like a brother to me then a nephew. My heart hurts but I know with all my heart he is with the Lord, my mom, sister and his other siblings and family members. This was so unexpected and suddenly, this has shaken us but not broken us. Our hearts morn of a great loss in our family. We will miss you David, love you sweet nephew, until we see you again, we love you…
Matt.5:4
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Revelations 21:4
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes,
and death shall be no more, neither shall there
be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore,
for the former things have passed away."

I worked with David at Kenco, in Reading, PA. He quickly became a treasured friend and chosen family!
David was truly genuine and one of a kind! There are so many things I will miss, but I will always remember him for his warm smile, his hearty laugh, his love of music and being the life of the party! I will miss him sending weekly texts of food pictures and what he made for dinner, talking about the game or the concert, and sharing stories about his family and his bird, Rocky.
Although I never met David’s family, I feel like I know them because that was David! Sue, Chandler, and Ashton, please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers! We are all better for having had some David Reid in our lives!

I worked with David at Kenco. I met him when I joined his network in 2017. I am grateful to have been on his team and able to see the amazing leadership qualities that made his sites the best in our company.
I have a lot of memories of David and have been witness to the impact he had on so many others. He was one of my best friends that I met at work and a true example of how to treat others, no matter their circumstances.
My heart goes out to all of the people whose lives he has touched, especially Sue, Chandler, and Ashton, the rest of his family, and his close friends. I do and will continue to miss David's camaraderie, energy, passion, and exemplary example of compassion and kindness. I am fortunate to have known him.

A: Davis was a people person, he always talked to you like he knew you all his life. Frist met David when he worked at Cryovac, and had the pleasure of working with him at Kenco. Dearest David Reid,
You redefined what parental love can look like for me. I am eternally grateful and honored to have known you, loved you, and have been welcomed with open arms into your family.
You never once made me feel like anything less than just that; family. Being loved by you is a blessing I wish the world could be enveloped in.
You expressed your love—
with a meal; and you always made sure there were plenty of leftovers to send with me.
with traditions; from eggs on easter to pumpkins on halloween.
with beach days; and teaching me how to find shark teeth; ( I found three of our one-hundred & seventy-four. )
I will strive
everyday, for the rest of my life
to love as you love
There is an unfathomable ache at the loss of you; but
I will remember you—
in the red of the dinnerware set
you got for my apartment.
in the melodies of your favorite songs
that we sing together in the car.
in the green of your beloved bird, Rocky,
when he reminds us that we’ve left the lights on.
I will remember you—
when I add tillamook and half-n-half
to my macaroni and cheese.
when I render the ones we love
with pigment on paper.
when I eat silver dollar pancakes-
like the ones you made from WandaVision.
when I’m driving through the night
and need to text you that I’m home safe.
I will remember you-
in the dimples on Chan’s cheeks
because you’re immortalized in his face.
in the blue of Ashton’s eyes
when they light up like yours did.
in the gentleness of Sue’s heart
because she takes care of everyone around her.
I will cherish your memory with me forever. On the day your son and I say “I do”, I know you’ll be beaming down at us; the warmth of you has always been pure sunshine.
je t'aime père ♡

Being close friends for years with his son Chandler, it’s strange to me now to think that I only met and got to know David recently, in the grand scheme of things. But even though I’d only spent time with him on a few occasions, I learned so much about him, and he asked so much about me. David was a man who cared for everyone he met, I could tell that from the moment he first spoke to me. And it was only a matter of time before he was telling me that his house, his kitchen, and the entire family, were open to me whenever I needed them. At one point he even said I was basically one of his kids, offering to add me to the family text chats, and telling me that if I was ever alone on any holiday, to come celebrate with them. When I attended his funeral, to see a building filled to bursting, with so many lives he’d touched in such positive ways throughout his lifetime, I really began to understand the impact his compassion and care had on others. It’s strange, to have a new father figure come into your life and leave it so quickly. But I can say that even in the comparatively short time that I’ve known him, he left a really influential mark on me as a person. Even though I may be a grown man, it didn’t take long for me to realize, I hope with everything that I can, that I can be like David Reid when I grow up. Though he’s missed by so many, I can say I don’t think I’ve ever met someone who left their world so much better than when they found it.

Q: How would you describe David to someone who had never met them?
A: I only had the pleasure of knowing David for a brief amount of time. I met David and Sue for dinner as our daughter Ashley is marrying their son Chan. I left that dinner with a feeling of peace, happiness and comfort. Peace knowing what a lovely family that our daughter was becoming a part of, happiness realizing that they were as happy to welcome Ashley as a part of their family as she was to join it and comfort knowing they loved her like we love her. David had the ability to capture the room with his sense of humor and genuine kindness. David could carry a wonderful conversation, keeping everyone around captivated and wanting to keep the conversation with him going just a little bit longer. Those who knew him could feel his excitement and love of life. David truly embraced others and made everyone that he encountered feel truly special. He was one who didn't ask "How are you?" to be polite. He asked because he cared and was genuinely interested. These types of individuals are truly rare and few and far in between. I know the Lord must have really needed someone special on the day that he called David to his Heavenly home. He will be missed greatly but I hope that his family takes comfort knowing that he is always there with them, just not seen by the eye. He will be holding a spot at the Lord's table for his precious family that he so dearly loved and cherished. I know that he is up there cooking up a delicious feast. God speed.

David Reid was a wonderful, caring, hard-working, loving man. He welcomed me into his family like I was one of his own. I'll never forget going over to his house to eat one of his amazing meals and play a board game, or him coming over to help us on some little things around the house. What I'll remember the most about him is his big heart - the way he cared about everyone, the way he would give anyone the shirt off his back or the shoes off his feet. He will be dearly missed, but always loved and greatly remembered.

On December 8th I sat next to David at the Kenco team dinner in Chattanooga. The evening was delightful and David was his usual talkative, outgoing, energetic self. He spoke of family throughout the night. He shared pictures and told the story of the recent two-way engagement. He spoke of food and recipes and showed us pictures of all the most recent spreads. We had an in-depth conversation about his award winning 3-bean chili with truffles. And we had endless stories about his pet bird. David was full of light and laughter and warmth and fun. It was a beautiful evening and I will always remember it. He will be deeply and dearly missed.
We are praying for comfort for the entire Reid family during this early hour of loss. Praying for strength and light in the midst of the shock and pain. We are so sorry for your loss and are so thankful to have known and worked with David over these years.
Praying that God would carry each of those grieving, day by day, hour by hour, moment by moment.
