Obituary of Miriam King Davis

Miriam “Mickey” King Brookshire Davis, 86, widow of the late James Elrod Davis, went to be with the Lord, on Thursday, December 22, 2022.
Mrs. Davis was born in Simpsonville to the late Austin David King and Nell Jones King. She was a dental assistant and worked for Perry Correctional Institution for 25 years. Mickey played softball until she was in her 60’s and was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.
Surviving, are a daughter, Sherry Blackwell; four grandchildren, Miranda Gainey (Garrett), Barry Ledford (Crystal), Cody Blackwell (Tiffany Weathers) and Jake Blackwell (Courtney King); four great-grandchildren, Serena Gainey, Kingsley Gainey, Reese Ledford and Cooper Ledford; and a sister, MaryEllen Henley. She was predeceased by her first husband, Jack Edmond Brookshire; a son, Barry Edmond Brookshire; a daughter, Joyce Ann Barrett; four brothers, Wilton King, Joyce King, Bud King and Lynn King; a sister, Betty Hughes and a special sister-in-law, Sylvia King.
Funeral Services will be 3pm Saturday at Cross Roads Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.
