Obituary of Charles Beason

Charles William “Charlie” Beason, 92, husband of Lilly Iduna Godfrey Beason for 35 years, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 23, 2022. Mr. Beason was born in Simpsonville to the late Dennis Edward “Babe” Beason and Margaret Elizabeth “Lib” Smith Beason. He was a member of Clear Spring Baptist Church where he formerly served as head usher, deacon, and Sunday School teacher. He retired from J.P. Stevens. Charlie enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, cutting wood and raising cattle. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons and their wives, Dennis and Bonnie Beason, and Ken and Joy Beason; two step-daughters and their husbands, Rhonda and Ronnie Talley, and Becky and Sammy Gault; a sister, Nancy Coates; nine grandchildren, Chad Beason with wife Christy, Christy Stewart with husband Chris, Chase Beason with wife LeAnne, Whitney Lamb, Clayton Beason with wife Salem; Mike Talley with wife Andrea, Kelly Groom with husband Rich, Corey Gault with wife Rebecca, and Kimberly Abdella with husband Chris; 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife of 35 years, Frankie Elizabeth Freeman Beason; and a brother, Dan Beason. A Celebration of Charlie’s Life will be 11 o’clock Wednesday at Clear Spring Baptist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
