Obituary of Sol Rivera

Sol “Sonia” Rivera, 71, wife of Jose Dolores Rivera for 51 years, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 23, 2022. Mrs. Rivera was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico to the late Luis Nogueras Herrera and Iluminada Colon. Sonia lived in the Taylors area for more than 20 years. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings. Her greatest love was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and “Grandma”. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Jose Vasquez, and Roberto “Tito” Rivera (Jaimie); & Daughter, Doris Rivera (Julio Vidal); eight grandchildren, Carlos “Macho” Vasquez, Ashley Vasquez, Jose “Joey” Vasquez, Bryana Vasquez, Kevyn Johnson, Ariana Vidal, Naomi Debortoli and Jayden Rivera; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Victor “Pochy” Nogueras and Joe Nogueras. Funeral services will be held Friday from 11am to 1pm at Fletcher Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Graceland East Memorial Park.
