Obituary of Charles Jason Young

Charles “Jason” Young, 67, husband of Reba Koon Young for 50 years, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. Mr. Young was born in Fountain Inn to the late Charles Henry Young and Rachael Inez Jenkins Young. Before his decline in health, he attended Fountain Inn Church of God od Prophecy. He continued his faith at home with Charles Stanley every Sunday. Jason retired from Flowers Bakery and later from Briggs-Shaffner Company. During his lifetime, he restored and collected classic cars. He also taught and included his daughters on several restoration projects. Using those opportunities as teaching moments. Jason also enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting. He was a family man and loved being “Papa” to his grandchildren. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Karen Schafer (Chris) and Jennifer Crisp (DJ); a sister, Nancy Pruitt (Gene) nine grandchildren, Austin Schafer, Blaine Crisp, Paige Crisp, Riley Weisner, Kiley Weisner, Kenzie Crisp, Kristen Schafer, Reba Sue Schafer and Brooke Weiser; four great-grandchildren, Warren Schafer, Grayden Crisp-Wyatt, Riley Weisner, Jr., and Crystal Jayde “CJ” Weisner. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Friday at Fletcher Funeral Service. A Celebration of Jason’s Life will be 2 o’clock Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Gray Court Cemetery.
