Obituary of Bill Chapman, Sr.

William “Bill” Henry Chapman, 90, husband of Doris Chapman for 67 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 31, 2022. Mr. Chapman was born in Pelzer to the late Frank Albert Chapman and Mary Hendricks Chapman. Bill was a member of First Baptist Simpsonville and a veteran of the US Air Force. He retired from the US Postal Service and Bill Chapman Construction. Bill enjoyed fishing with his dear friends Pelham and Fred. Bill was known for his quick wit, “Clarkism’s” and nicknames he gave each of his friends and family. Surviving, in addition to his wife, is a daughter, Kristi Chapman (Bret Petropoulos); two grandchildren, Will Chapman and Erin Chapman; a daughter in-law, Beth Chapman; and a brother in-law, Don Floyd. He was predeceased by a son, William “Billy” Chapman, Jr.; and a sister, Revonda Floyd. Graveside services are private. Burial will be at Cannon Byrd Memorial Park.
