Obituary of Dorothy Anne Wood

Dorothy Anne Campbell Wood, 91, widow of John Earl Wood, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 15, 2023. Mrs. Wood was born in Gray Court to the late Albert Taylor Campbell and Nannie Letha Graydon Campbell. Dorothy was a lifetime member of Dials United Methodist Church and retired from Wilson’s- Simpsonville after more than 30 years of service. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and gardening. Dorothy also was a beautician for years and owned “Hair Fashions”. She hosted lunch for the family every Sunday after church and loved gathering for Christmas. Dorothy was a devoted mother, and loved being “Ma-Ma” to her grandchildren. Surviving are two sons, Keith Wood (Dee Ann) and Ronald Wood (Jana); four brothers, Jerry Campbell (Virginia), Wayne Campbell; Harold Campbell (Susan), Mike Campbell (Pat); a sister, Nancy Knight; and three grandchildren; Avery Wood (Laura), Haley Wood, Cassidy Wood; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Vivian Patterson; sister-in-law, Alene Campbell; and two brothers-in-law, Willis Knight and Mel Patterson. A Celebration of Dorothy’s Life will be 4 o’clock Wednesday at Dials United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends an hour prior. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
