Obituary of Joyce Beck

Joyce LeVern Carr Beck, 83, wife of Charles John “Charlie” Beck for 37 years, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 16, 2023. Mrs. Beck was born in Van Buren County, AR to the late Jess E. Carr and Opal Bittle Carr. She retired as a purchasing agent with the City of Fairfield, CA municipal government. Joyce enjoyed gardening, shopping, and cooking. She loved Christmas and visits to Disneyland. Joyce played the piano and the organ and was a collector of Barbie dolls and Snow White figurines. Her greatest joy came in being Nana to her grandchildren. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two daughters with their husbands, Christy and Kevin Grills, and Jana and Kendall Stow; and two granddaughters with their husbands, Erin and Ryan Rea, and Haley and Nick Reeves. She was predeceased by two brothers, Leon Carr and Vernon Carr; and a sister, Virginia Nixon. Graveside services will be 1 o’clock Saturday at Cannon Memorial Park, officiated by Chaplain Annie Myers. The family will receive friends prior to the service between 12 – 12:30 pm at Fletcher Funeral Service.
