Obituary of Billy Jervin Tucker

Billy Jervin Tucker, 82, husband of Devonia Elizabeth “Dee” Spoon for 62 years, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 23, 2023. Mr. Tucker was born in Greenville to the late Rev. William Berry Tucker and Bonnie Irene Branson Tucker. He enjoyed fishing, boating, being in the yard, trips to the beach, and watching westerns on TV. Billy was a jokester and prankster by nature. He loved being the center of attention. His most fulfilling hobby was working on and rebuilding Volkswagons. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Billy Tucker, Jr. with wife Charity; two daughters, Diane Collins with husband Bill, and Julie Valenti with husband Dave; two sisters, Mama Jo Burlison and Debbie Tucker; four grandchildren, Melissa Graham with husband Mark, T.J. Fowler with wife Olivia, Bree Barrett with husband Mitch, and Landon Tucker; four great-grandchildren, Easton, Wyatt, Nora and McKinley; and his beloved chihuahua “Junebug.” He was predeceased by a sister, Doris Sumpter. A Celebration of Billy’s Life will be 2 o’clock Thursday at the Conestee Assembly of God, officiated by Rev. Chuck Bolden and Rev. Eddie Crocker. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
