Bradford Dewitt Payne, 93, widower of Shirley Quinn Williams Payne, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 14, 2023. Mr. Payne was born in Cummings, GA to the late James Newton Payne and Bessie Mabel Day Payne. He was a longtime resident of Greenville and a US Navy Veteran. Bradford was a member of Standing Springs Baptist Church where he assisted in many capacities, but was most thought of for his visiting and caring for the church shut-ins. Surviving, are three daughters Cheryl Brown (Ronny Greene), Kathy McCarty and Rene’ Garrick (Bobby); five grandchildren, Jennifer Brehm (Aleks), Matthew Carbaugh (Lauren McCarthy), Blake Parsons, Bradford Garrick and Christopher Garrick. He was predeceased by five brothers, Jerry, Billy, James, Thomas and Maurice Payne and two sisters, Cathryn Raines and Nancy Waters. Funeral Services will be 3pm Monday at Standing Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon Street, Greenville, SC 29605.
