Obituary of Dorothy Tollison Boyter

Please share a memory of Dorothy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dorothy “Dot” Elethia Tollison Boyter, 78, widow of Wayne Elice Boyter, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 27, 2023. Mrs. Boyter was born in Greenville to the late Norman Clyde Tollison and Florence Harvey Tollison. Before her decline in health, Dot served many years in the cafeteria at Bryson Elementary School. Dot loved to cook and cherished hosting Sunday dinner for her family. As a gift to their family, she and her sister, Barbara worked together for months creating a cookbook filled with family recipes. After completing, this was gifted to the family. With her love of cooking and baking, she leaves a legacy that will forever be cherished by her family. Surviving are two sons, Jimmy Boyter with wife Jamie, and Eddie Boyter with wife Sonya; a brother, Norman Tollison with wife Nancy; and five grandchildren, Hunter Boyter with wife Sheree, David Boyter with fiancée Megan, Maria Boyter Turner with husband Adam, Brianna Boyter, and Jase Boyter, and her first great-grandson expected in June. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Edward Tollison and Jimmy Tollison; and a sister, Barbara Overton. A Celebration of Dot’s Life will be 2 o’clock Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Stephen Christopher. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Cannon Memorial Park.
