Obituary of Joe Anne Strickland Doster

Joe Anne Strickland Doster, 93, passed away in Fountain Inn, SC on March 2, 2023. Mrs. Doster was born November 26, 1930 in Athens, GA and is the second of 2 children to Fletcher and Iris Gunn Strickland of Commerce, GA. Jo Ann was a member of Harmony Baptist Church, Fountain Inn, SC and was fond of crocheting and canning foods. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and sister, Mary Strickland Stevens, Charlotte, NC and by her loving husband, Richard Doster, to whom she was married to for 32 years; and two sons, Tom Doster, Crawford, GA and Joe Doster, Hoschton, GA. Surviving are her 8 children, Julia Ann Carter, Baxley, GA, Jack Mize (Barbara), Hinesville, GA, Jean Asburn, Jackson, SC, Bobby Mize (Joy), Hinesville, GA, Larry Mize (Brenda), Ellaville, GA, Marty Phillips (Donald), Jefferson, GA, Dottie Haire (Tommy), Lavonia, GA and Ricky Doster (Sue), Winder, GA; 31 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild.. Funeral Services will be 2pm Sunday at Fletcher Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be private.
