Obituary of David Reynolds, Jr.

David Ansel Reynolds, Jr., 73, of Simpsonville, SC, husband of Nancy Warren Reynolds for 38 years, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 14, 2023. Dave was born in Greenville to the late David Ansel, Sr. and Doris Harvey Reynolds. He was a 67’ graduate of Greer High School and a United States Navy veteran serving from 1967 to 1971. He is an alumnus of the University of South Carolina having earned a degree in Business Management. After more than 40 years, Dave retired from KEMET Electronics Corporation. His career included time as plant manager and three years as general manager of KEMET Electronics manufacturing facilities in China. After retirement, Dave enjoyed traveling, cooking, fishing and trap shooting. He was active in the Greenville Gun Club and was currently serving as Vice President on their Board of Directors. Surviving, in addition to his wife, is a son, Jeffrey with wife Lauren; a sister, Lynn Coggins with husband, Roger; two grandsons, Jacob and Luke Reynolds; a nephew, Matthew Coggins; a niece, Erin Mitchell and a grandniece, Ella Mitchell. He was preceded in death by a son, Austin. A Celebration of Dave’s Life will begin 2 o’clock Friday with military honors in the chapel of Fletcher Funeral Service. Receiving of friends will then follow from 2:30-4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 113 Mills Avenue, Greenville, SC 29605.
