Obituary of Joey Adams

Joseph Matthew “Joey” Adams, Sr., husband of the late Angelia Rena “Angie” Smith Adams, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Mr. Adams was born in Salt Lake City, UT to the late James Manuel Adams, Sr. and Virginia Carol “Jenny” Milligan. He was a member of Hickory Tavern Church of God and previously worked at Cannon Collison in Fountain Inn. Joey was a guitar player and a blues musician and a recorded artist. He was a car enthusiast and a collector of guitars and watches. Joey cherished his wife and his sons above all else. His greatest joy came in being PePa to his grandchildren. Surviving are three sons, Matt Adams, Jr. with wife Rachel, Jae Adams, and Josh Adams with wife Morgan; a brother, Mike Adams with wife Janet; and eight grandchildren, Jaden, Weston, Kyler, Brennan, Colten, Luka, Isabella and Violet; He was predeceased by two brothers, Manuel Adams, Jr. and Jesse Adams. A Celebration of Joey’s Life will be 4 o’clock Saturday at Hickory Tavern Church of God. Donations can be made to Fletcher Funeral Service.
