Obituary of Chris Barton

Broadus Christopher Barton, 49, husband of Jennifer Robin Matthews Barton for 25 years, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 23, 2023. Mr. Barton was born in Simpsonville to Sandra Green Barton and the late Broadus Barton. Chris’ passion in life was fishing. He grew his own bait and collected fishing rods. He also enjoyed hunting, being outdoors, and dirt-track racing. Chris was a huge NASCAR fan and a jokester by nature. Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are a son, Cory Barton with wife Michaela; two daughters, McKensey Barton and Journey Tallent; a brother, Rodney Barton; a sister, Amy Barton-McDonald; and two grandchildren, Nathan D’aoust and Emberleigh Barton. A Celebration of Chris’ Life will be 3 o’clock Tuesday at Fletcher Funeral Service. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Cannon Memorial Park.
