Obituary of Sharon Chappell

Sharon Olivia Cortney Chappell, 75, widow of George Cole Chappell, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. Mrs. Chappell was born in Ottoman, VA to the late Nathaniel Thomas Cortney and Lottie Florence “Peggy” Sebra Gill. She was a member of Corrottoman Baptist Church and retired from Woven Electronics. Sharon enjoyed flower gardening and absolutely loved fishing. Surviving are a son, Jimmy Chappell with wife Rhonda; two daughters, Becky Williams and Linda McGregor with husband Larry; a sister, Wendy Carter with husband Donald; two grandsons, Jason Ellenburg and Justin Ellenburg; and two special nieces, Teresa Keliikuli and Jessie Huckaby. She was predeceased by a daughter, Cindy Bishop. A Celebration of Sharon’s Life will be 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Service. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
