Gilbert Benjamin “Gil” Morgan, 90, husband of Mae DeEtte Small Morgan for 60 years, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. Mr. Morgan was born in Moore County, NC to the late Henry Bowden Morgan and Nursie Clyde Britt Morgan. He was an alumnus of the University of South Carolina and retired as a CPA with Elliott Davis. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Gil was a skilled golfer and played on the USAF team. He had the heart of a servant and served as a Christian counselor to many. He was always involved with DeEtte’s activities, and together, they often opened their home to people in need. Gil’s hobby as an oil painter produced several amazing paintings for the home. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Lisa De Norris with husband Michael; a brother, Larry Morgan with wife Glenda; five grandchildren, Tiffany Norris, Olivia Norris with partner T.J. Fowler, Patrick Norris with wife Julia, Michaela Ceballos with husband Jacob, and Avery Norris with fiancé Kylie Lewis; and five great-grandchildren, Logan Norris, Nora Fowler, Jaxon Ceballos, Alayna Norris, and Roman Norris. He was predeceased by two brothers, Ray Morgan and Bill Morgan; and two grandsons, Christopher Michael Norris and Benjamin Caleb Norris. A Celebration of Gil’s Life, with Military Honors, will be 11 o’clock Monday, May 29th, at Mauldin United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private. For assistance to the Morgan family, memorials may be made to Fletcher Funeral Service, 1218 N. Main Street, Fountain Inn, SC 29644.
