Obituary of Bill Baker

William Thomas “Bill” Baker, 83, husband of Barbara Ann Frazier Baker for 37 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 27, 2023. Mr. Baker was born in Ware Shoals to the late Edward Eugene Baker, Sr. and Elsie Woods Baker. He retired from Southeastern Products and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Bill built birdhouses and recorded gospel tracts that were distributed to his friends. He loved and was a collector music. Bill was a fan of NASCAR and the NFL and enjoyed watching classic movies and westerns. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Billy Baker and David Giles; three daughters, Judy Baker, Lynne Lewis, and Melanie Giles; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mary Baker; a brother-in-law, Bill Ferrand; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Tommy Baker; two brothers, Gene Baker and Ray Baker; and a sister, Bonnie Ferrand. A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be 12:30 pm Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Shawna VandeLune and Chaplain Bryan Bellotte. The family will receive friends for 30 minutes prior to the service. Entombment will be in the mausoleum of Greenville Memorial Gardens.
