Obituary of Eddie Vaulton

Roy “Eddie” Edward Vaulton, 74, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 5, 2023. Eddie was in born Knoxville, TN to the late John D. Vaulton and Mildred Reva Rolen Vaulton. He was a member of East Georgia Road Baptist Church and an avid Tennessee Volunteer fan. Eddie enjoyed fishing, bowling and watching football and softball. Some of Eddie’s fondest times were attending his big brother’s softball games. He was the team’s big fan. Eddie was given his own jersey, and quickly became known as the team’s honorary batboy. Later in life as the family grew, he was there to cheer on the next generation and attended many softball and baseball games. He enjoyed spending time and socializing with family and friends. Eddie was a loving soul, never meeting a stranger. His kind-heart spirit will be greatly missed. Surviving, are two sisters, Susan Hamby and Juanita Sharp; a brother, John D Vaulton, Jr. (Judy); five nieces, Robin Earle (Tony), Carolyn Rodgers (Michael), Wendy Vaulton (Lynn), Stefanie Carter(Carter), and Melanie Barber (John); three nephews, John Vaulton III, Steve Vaulton, Michael Vaulton; his dear friend, Paul Gunn; and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Mildred Ketchem; and a brother, Michael Vaulton. A Celebration of Eddie’s Life will be 2 o’clock Wednesday at East Georgia Road Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Brian Ellison. The family will receive friends an hour prior. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to East Georgia Road Baptist Church Building Fund, 724 SC-417 Simpsonville, SC 29681.
