Obituary of Brenda Maxine Peden

Brenda Maxine Peden, 80, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 30, 2023. Ms. Peden was born in Laurens to the late John Wesley Peden and Myrtie Adaline Adair Peden. She was a member of Green Pond United Methodist Church. She was an alumna of Spartanburg Methodist College and retired from Monsanto, Inc. Maxine enjoyed basketball, traveling, and riding horses; however, her true passion was playing golf. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Frances Peden; a niece, Kathleen Peden-Dye; a great-nephew, Rev. Austin Dye with wife Gabrielle; and a great-niece, Asheton Dye. She was predeceased by a brother, Bill Peden. Graveside services will be 10 o’clock Monday at Green Pond UMC Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Austin Dye. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
