Obituary of Deborah Maloy

Deborah Lynn Carnes Maloy, 59, danced into Heaven on Friday, June 30, 2023. Ms. Maloy was born in Cartersville, GA to Peggy Ann Carnes and the late James Barney Baker. She was a graduate of Clinton High School and the former owner and operator of Red’s Cafe and Roberts Restaurant. Deb was kind-hearted, strong, funny, and a free-spirited hippie at heart. She was good at listening and giving advice. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Deb enjoyed arts & crafts, but her greatest joy came in being Nannie to her grandchildren. Surviving, in addition to her mother, are a son, Taylor Maloy; three daughters, Shandy Maloy, Jenna Garner with husband Parker, and Catherine Gutierrez with husband Sid; a brother, Furman “Dickie” Carnes; eight grandchildren, Amber Maloy, Kourtney Quinn, Alyssa (Jade) Redkey, Kolby Maloy, Noah Garner, Olivia Maloy, Lucus Garner, and Adeline Garner; five great grandchildren, Kristopher Woodward, Logan Woodward, Madelynn Armstrong, Peyton Quinn, and Waylon Quinn; two nephews Christopher Carnes and Jordan Carnes; an uncle, Donnie Baker; a great aunt, Bernice (Boots) Satterfield; and many loving cousins and childhood friends. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Furman Jonah Carens and Fonella Taylor Carnes. A Celebration of Deb’s Life will be held at a later date.
