Obituary of Thelma Hudson

Thelma Lucille Smith Hudson, 84, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 16, 2023. Ms. Hudson was born in Fountain Inn to the late William Oscar “Obie” Smith and Anna Mae Owens Smith. She was a member of Fountain Inn Church of God. She loved yard sales, flower gardening, and cooking. Thelma enjoyed trips to Walmart and Goodwill, but her greatest joy was being Nanny to her grandchildren. She was a collector of what-nots and monkey figurines. Surviving are three sons, James Hudson with wife Larae, Steve Hudson, and Junior Hudson with wife Stephanie; a daughter, Debra Phillips with husband Joe; a brother, Willie Smith; six grandchildren, Jamie Hudson, Carlie Barrett, Jason Phillips with wife Sarah, Brittnie Hudson, Haley Barrett, and Noah Hudson; and six great-grandchildren, Chubbs, Jennifer “NuNu”, Alaina, Aria, Mia, and Brody. She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Denise Hudson; two brothers, Harold Smith and David Smith; and three sisters, Margaret Ford, Martha Strickland, and Lola Mae Case. Visitation will be 6 – 8 pm Tuesday at Fletcher Funeral Service. A Celebration of Thelma’s Life will be 12:30 pm Wednesday at Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Rex Keaton.
