I have just been informed of Margie’s passing. I would like to offer my deepest sympathy. Margie was my supervisor at US Agency for International Development (USAID) for many years. Margie was a wonderful, caring and supportive supervisor. Kristie you was the love of her life. Margie would talk about you to us on a regular basis. She was so proud of you. I have never met you but feel that I know you through your Mom.

Q: What will you never forget about Margie? A: Hi Kristie, my name is Lennie Jordan. I worked with your mother in the management office of USAID from 1983 to 2011, I believe, She was a very sweet person. I enjoyed working with her, what I remember most about her was that she kept her purse her close to her body when she walked around outside of her office. I used to tease her to say, do you think somebody’s gonna run up on you and steal it? We would laugh, but the biggest thing I remember is her office oh my gosh, she kept her office from top to bottom full of papers and files. I used to ask her how can you find anything but she told me she knew exactly where everything was and it was true because if I needed any paperwork any files, she knew exactly where they were. after I retired in 2011, I used to ask has anybody heard from Margie but unfortunately, nobody knew. I’m so glad that she had a good life after the retirement but sad to hear that she passed away. She was really good people.

We have always heard wonderful stories about Margie from her daughter, Kristi. Margie certainly seemed to be a kind, wonderful and loving woman. We are very sorry to hear of her passing and wish to extend many condolences to her family. We will be making a donation to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in memory of Mrs. Tumblin.
