Obituary of John Tinsley

John Joe Tinsley, 66, husband of June Strickland Tinsley for 30 years, went to be with Lord on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.

Mr. Tinsley was born in Frostberry, FL to the late Joe Flem Tinsley and Gladys Louise Teague Tinsley. He retired from Oconee County and was a member of Hillside Baptist Church.  John enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and boating.  He loved being outdoors and spending time with his family.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, is a son, Brian Evans; a daughter, Connie Bower (Mike); a brother, Donnie Tinsley; two sisters, Gail Tinsley and Debbie Tinsley; and one grandson, Cameron Telley. He was predeceased by a brother, Danny Tinsley; a sister, Joanne Mathis; and his beloved dog “Chubbs”.

A Celebration of John’s Life will be 3 o’clock Sunday at Hillside Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends an hour prior.  Burial, with military honors, will follow in the church cemetery.
