Obituary of Karen Jones

Karen Teresa Jones, 72, wife of Wayne Alvin Jones for 54 years, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 10, 2023.

Mrs. Jones was born in Simpsonville to the late Robert Jack Goodnough and Edna Ruth Cantrell Goodnough.  She was a member of Five Forks Baptist Church and served many years as a daycare teacher.  Karen was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed going to Greenville Braves games.  She also enjoyed flower gardening and reading. Karen’s greatest love was her family and being “Nana”.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Tara Reed and Jennifer Darrough; six grandchildren, Jaime Reed (Rebecca), Jacob Reed, Preston Darrough, Evelyn Reed, Aimee Darrough, and Eliana Reed; a great-granddaughter, Amelia Reed; and a sister, Donna Burdette (Gary).  She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Savannah Darrough.

A Celebration of Karen’s Life will be 4 o’clock Saturday at Five Forks Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4 o’clock.  Burial will be private.
