Obituary of Jimmie Brown

Please share a memory of Jimmie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Jimmie Lee Brown, 90, husband of the late Dolly Patricia Morgan Brown, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 3, 2023.

Mr. Brown was born in Woodruff to the late Lee Daniel Brown and Nellie Floree Owens Brown.  He was a member of Bellview Baptist Church and Crescent Masonic Lodge #245.  Jimmie was a veteran of the US Army and retired from Cryovac.  He was an avid bass fisherman, participating in and winning several tournament championships.  Jimmie enjoyed riding a golf cart and watching NASCAR races; however, his greatest joy was being PaPa to his grandchildren.

Surviving are a son, Danny Brown with wife Cathy; a daughter-in-law, Susan; five grandchildren, Tabitha Carroll (Brian), Nicole Brown, Celeste Nickel (Mike), Jason Scott and John Scott (Jennifer); eleven great-grandchildren, Zach McCraw, Landon Carroll, Cooper Ells, Grayson Woody, Mason Woody, Jack Nickel, Kate Nickel, Jesse Conard, Hunter Conard, Lula Scott, and Nora Nickel; and a great-great-granddaughter, Lydia.  He was predeceased by a son, Johnny Brown; and a great-granddaughter, Payton-Marie Scott.

A Celebration of Jimmie’s Life, with Military Honors, will be 2 o’clock Sunday at Bellview Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends in the sanctuary immediately following the service.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
