Obituary of Frankie Brown

Francis Carol “Frankie” Trammell Brown, 81, widow of John Dean Brown, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

 

Mrs. Brown was born in Simpsonville to the late Duckett B. Trammell and Ethel Belle Babb Brown.  She was a member of Clear Spring Baptist Church where she served as the Director of Sunday School and taught the Welcome Sunday School Class.  She was a member the church choir and worked with the youth groups  for many years.  She retired from Heartland Hospice and served many years as a Junior Girl Scout leader.

 

Frankie was an equestrian at heart, attending rodeos and horse shows throughout the state.  She worked many years in the Spartanburg Horse Show Association.  She was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) and Carolina Horse Show Association (CHSA), in both of which she competitively showed horses.  She served as the SC High School Radio point secretary and 4-H Horse Club leader. 

 

Frankie was a Guardian ad Litem for Greenville County and was dedicated to the children whom she worked with and helping them find meaning in their lives.  She also loved to dance and was a member of the Carolina Cloggers.

 

Surviving are a son, Gary Brown with wife Sharon; three daughters, Connie Cox with husband Ben, Sonia Babson, and Marcia Young; a brother, Vernon Trammell; five grandchildren, Corey Fulbright, Kenny McClellion with wife Ashley, Ryan McClellion, Chase Abercrombie with wife Amber, and Travis Abercrombie with wife Laura; and eleven great-grandchildren, Chloe Fulbright, Austin McClellion, Caden McClellion, Noel McClellion, Holden Abercrombie, Benton Abercrombie, Maverick Abercrombie, Neveah Abercrombie, Natalie Abercrombie, Mason Abercrombie, and Rivers Abercrombie.  She was predeceased by three brothers, Larry Dale Trammell, Daniel Trammell, and Charlie Trammell; two sisters, Betty Jean Crisp and Sarah Knox; and a granddaughter, Tesla Cox.

 

A Celebration of Frankie’s Life will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Clear Spring Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in Cannon Memorial Park.
