Shelia Wetona Smith Owens Messier, 84, widow of Maurice “Mo” Messier, went to be with the Lord, Monday, September 18, 2023.
Mrs. Messier was born in Carnesville, Ga to the late Spurgeon Samuel Smith and Ada Fay Floyd Smith. She was a member of GracePoint Church. Shelia enjoyed puzzles, watching old movies and bragging on her family.
Surviving, are two daughters, Diane Rogers (Harvey) and Debbie Hill (Rev. Ben); a brother, Rick Smith; a sister, Rhonda Borovicka; five grandchildren, Heather Rogers (Chad), Haley Rogers, Rebecca Rogers, Brittany Williams (Nathan) and Daniel Hill (Mikala) and eight great-grandchildren, Harper Rogers-Regenthal, Cyrus Rogers-Messinger, Gideon Marshall, Cotton Barton, Woodward Barton, Lee Williams, RoseEllen Williams and Emerson Hill. She was predeceased by a son, Christopher Owens; a brother, Jerry Smith and a sister, Brenda Dunnigan.
Funeral Services will be 1:30pm Friday at GracePoint Church Simpsonville. The family will receive friends from 1-1:30pm. Burial will be at Graceland East Memorial Park.
