Obituary of Marilynn English

Marilynn Lee Beckner English, 81, widow of Marvin Darnell English, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, September 21, 2023, after a recent decline in health.

Mrs. English was born in Beaumont, TX to the late Malcolm Lee Beckner and Marjorie Ethel Coker Beckner.  She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and a former member of Standing Springs Baptist Church and Rocky Creek Baptist Church.  Marilynn enjoyed cross stitching, scrapbooking and crafts.

Surviving, are two sons, Malcolm English (Jan) and Mark English; a sister, Miriam Bertrand; six grandchildren, Mylon English, Markus English (Melissa), Jordan English (Lauren), Jessica Tucker (Josh), Mitchell English (Casey) and Alyssa Collier (Brandon); eleven great-grandchildren, Elsie Marie, Merritt, Noah, Willow, Piper, Luella, Henley, Caleb, Jackson, Grady and Maisen; a brother-in-law, Arnold Robinson and two sisters-in-law, Mel Swearingen (Paul) and Faye Lloyd (Eston).  She was predeceased by a sister, Martha Robinson.

A Celebration of Marilynn’s Life will be 11am Monday, October 2, 2023 at Fletcher Funeral Service.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Shriner’s Hospital, 950 W Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.

A special thanks to the Center Well staff, the SC House Calls staff and Hospice of the Foothills, for the special care taking they provided.
