Mrs. James was born in Greenville to the late Roy Benjamin Cooke, Sr. and Edna Keeler Cooke. Linda was an animal lover at heart. In her own way, she was a loving mother and grandmother.
Surviving are a daughter, Crystal Newman; a brother, Roy Cooke, Jr. with wife Susan; two grandchildren, Brandon Newman with wife Ella, and Megan Newman; five great-grandchildren, Kenneth, Julia, Kyler, Kylin, and Kylaiah; a two nephews, MAJ Raineer Cooke, and Kevin Purgason with wife Cecelia. She was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Bubba Purgason.
Services will be private.
