Obituary of Danny Duncan

Please share a memory of Danny to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Danny Dean Duncan, 59, beloved husband of Tammy Buchanan Duncan for 22 years, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday October 18, 2023 after a four-year battle with cancer.

Danny was born in Tryon, North Carolina to Lucille Brown Duncan and the late Billy Dean Duncan. He was also the loving stepdad of Connor Young.  Danny grew up in Landrum South Carolina and received his BS in Computer Science from USC Spartanburg. For many years he worked in IT with Hamrick's of Gaffney and then Associated Systems in Greenville before founding his own company, Respect Technology, in 2007. His company continued to grow because of his relationships with his customers, loyalty to his employees, and commitment to old-fashioned hard work.

Danny was a member of Five Forks Baptist Church where he had served as deacon and youth Sunday school teacher. He also loved singing in the choir for many years.  Danny enjoyed vacationing in the Smoky mountains and on the coast of South Carolina where he made many great family memories. He also enjoyed reading and watching South Carolina Gamecock football and eating chicken wings.

In addition to his wife, stepson and mother, Danny is survived by a brother, Darren Duncan; a sister, Deanna McCarty (Eric); and 2 nephews, Byron and Thomas.  He is predeceased by his nephew, Jacob McCarty.

A Celebration of Danny’s Life will be 1 o’clock Saturday at Five Forks Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

We would like to say a personal thank-you to wonderful caregivers Debbie, Morgan, Robyn, Meagan and Jennifer.  Your compassion would forever be cherished by our family.
