Obituary of Shirely Mae Gutek

Shirley Mae (Lewis) Gutek, of Fountain Inn, SC passed away on All Saints Day, Tuesday, November 1, 2023 at Hillcrest Hospital, Simpsonville, SC.

Funeral mass and service will be held at St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in the spring of 2024 in Vassar, MI. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth Catholic Cemetery.

Shirley was born November 25, 1925 in Reese, MI to Harold and Berneice (Lovelock) Lewis. She and Stanley L. Gutek were united in marriage on November 10, 1945 in Reese. MI. She attended St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Vassar and Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Greenville, SC.

Shirley is survived by:

her children Robert, spouse Sarah of Anthem, AZ and Mary, spouse Rick Moessner of Fountain Inn, SC;

her grandchildren Michele Gutek, spouse Simon Shackelton of Castle Rock, CO, Jessica, spouse Jim Messner of Simpsonville, SC, Jasson, spouse Thea Moessner of Portland, OR, Christine Gutek, spouse Chris Alexander of Phoenix, AZ, Rachel(Shelly) spouse Thomas Schoo-Wuerz of Albuquerque, NM, Sue, spouse Monte Henerson of Hartford, CT;

her great-grandchildren Evelyn, Meredith and Lydia Messner; Avery, Wynston and Noah Alexander; Ian and Emma Henderson; Edie Shackleton; Valerie and Cindy Wuerz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, son Michael, and brothers Donald and Robert Lewis.
