Linda Lee Friend Wade, 81, widow of Richard Scott Wade, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 18, 2023.

Mrs. Wade was born in Cleveland, OH to the late Charles Frank Friend, Sr. and Loretta Katherine DeCamp Friend. She was a member of Pond Fork Baptist Church (Pendergrass, GA) where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She retired from the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Linda was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and bird-watching. Her greatest joy however was being Grandma to her grandchildren.

Surviving are a son, Lance Parker; a daughter, Kimberly Layton with husband Mark; a brother, Karl Friend; four grandchildren, Tyler Sexton with wife Kira, Olivia Teiken with husband Kenny, Austin Parker, and Ethan Layton; and four great-grandchildren, Tristin, Alexander, Taryn, and Lucas. She was predeceased by three brothers, Frank Friend, Jr., Bill Friend, and David Friend; and a sister, Joyce Friend.

Graveside services will be 2 o’clock Wednesday at Pond Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
