Obituary of Sara Templeton
Sara Maude Davis Templeton, 88, widow of Lee Roy Templeton, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 19, 2023.
Mrs. Templeton was born in Laurens County to the late James Davis and Agnes Beatrice Lollis Davis. She was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church and retired from Inman Mills. Sara loved fishing, flowers and getting her hair done. She enjoyed watching Westerns, country music, and collected Tweety Birds memorabilia.
Surviving are two daughters, Bea Gaffney with husband Richard, and Patricia Thompson with husband Cecil; a brother, Rufus Davis; two sisters, Beatrice Poole and Ruby Armstrong; eight grandchildren, Brandon Farrow, Jamie Gaffney with wife Patricia, Valentina Gaffney, David Thompson, Ray Thompson with wife Kimberley, Devon Humphries with wife Katie, Ben Lindler with wife Erin, and Liam Humphries; ten great-grandchildren, Hunter Gaffney, Valerie Gaffney, Lacey Whelchel, Brian Lockhart, Samantha Lockhart, Eli Vick, Dayna Gaffney, Savannah Humphries, John Bowling and Brittany Humphries; and a great-great- grandchild, Layson Wurdemann. She was predeceased by a son, Robert Humphries; two brothers, James Davis and Maxie Davis; two grandchildren, Bobby Humphries and Brian Humphries; and a great-grandchild Lil Richard.
A Celebration of Sara’s Life will be 2 o’clock Friday at Fletcher Funeral Service. The family will receive friends for 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be in Highland Home Baptist Church Cemetery.
