Obituary of Peggy Hoglen
Peggy Josephine Dowdle Hoglen, 83, widow of Gene Autrey Hoglen, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 23, 2023.
Mrs. Hoglen was born in Franklin, NC to the late Jay Leslie Dowdle and Delia Marie Waldrop Stiles. She retired from The TJX Companies. Peggy was an avid reader and served as an organist at several churches during her lifetime. She enjoyed cross-stitch, crossword puzzles, and collecting shot glasses from places she had visited while traveling. Her greatest pleasure was being Mamaw to her grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, Kevin and Terri Hoglen, and Michael and Tamara Hoglen; a brother, Ed Dowdle; a sister, Frankie Stiles-Cowsert; seven grandchildren, Tabitha Talbert, Allison Hoglen and her partner Alison Hafner, Christian Hoglen, Leah Cooper, Lee Williams, Jennifer Maines with husband Adam, and Jessica Ratliff; and ten great-grandchildren, Dallas Talbert, Amayah Nelson, Jameson Hafner, Dawson Hoglen, Ansley Laryn Hoglen, Michelle Cooper, Austin Williams, Lexi Williams, Diem Maines, and Tatum Kent; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a step-father who raised her, Frank Noah Stiles.
A Celebration of Peggy’s Life will be held at one o'clock Thusday January 18th at Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
