Obituary of Tom Simmerer

Thomas Jay “Tom” Simmerer, 75, husband of the late Sue Ellen Jones Simmerer, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, after a short battle with cancer.

Mr. Simmerer was born on January 17, 1945, in Cleveland, OH to the late Herbert George Simmerer and Patricia Ann Glass Simmerer.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, served in Vietnam, and worked for Ashley Furniture Stores in Greenville, SC.  Tom enjoyed golf, amusement parks, and cruises. He was a sports car enthusiast, and a fan of the Miami Dolphins and NASCAR. He also enjoyed collecting sports cards and NASCAR model cars.

Surviving are a son, Greg Aldrich; a daughter, Denice Jobe with husband Stephen; three brothers, Donald Simmerer with wife Randy, Mike Simmerer, and Ronald Simmerer; and five grandchildren, Nick Jobe, Henry Jobe, Tyler Aldrich, Jaden Sullivan, and Cody Aldrich.

A Celebration of Tom’s Life, with Military Honors, will be 11 o’clock Saturday, January 20^th, at Fletcher Funeral Service.
