Obituary of Jack Burns
William Jack Burns, 81, husband of Sara Vaughan Burns for 26 years, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 31, 2023.
Mr. Burns was born in Annville, KY to the late James Luther Burns, Sr. and Bessie Frye Burns. He attended Mauldin First Baptist Church. Jack’s passion was in restoring classic cars and trucks. He restored a 1934 Chevy pickup truck that was a trophy winner at multiple car shows across the state. He enjoyed scouring the Jockey Lot and finding a good deal. He was a collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia and antique candy dispensing machines.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Jean Ann Burns with wife Stephanie, and Dawn Lintz; and two stepchildren, Beverly Saindon with husband Lee, and David Vaughan with wife Celeste; a brother, James Burns, Jr. with wife Brenda; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis Burns.
A Celebration of Jack’s Life will be at 1 o’clock Saturday, January 13th, at Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Wade Leonard. Burial will be private.
