Lynn Lawson Shockley, 73, widow of James Edward Shockley, went to be with the Lord on, Monday, January 29, 2024.
Mrs. Shockley was born in Rutherford, NC to the late William Wade Lawson and Ila Louise Huffstickler Lawson. Before having Justin, she worked in administration for the Greenville News and the Psychiatric Associates in Greenville. Lynn was a member of The Church at West Gantt, where she sang in the choir, and participated in Young at Heart. She taught her Sunday school class and was a member of WMU. Lynn enjoyed scrapbooking, painting, making jewelry, and gardening. She was a wonderful cook and loved baking for others. She was a caregiver at heart, always thinking of others, and loved being “Mamaw” to her grandchildren.
Surviving are her son, Justin Shockley and wife Linda; two grandsons, Dalton Hawn and Jesse Shockley; a sister, Myra Stroud and husband Festus; two nephews, Nick O’Shields with wife Angela and Brandon Stroud with wife Nicole; four great- nephews, and one great-niece.
A Celebration of Lynn’s life will be 1 o’clock Thursday at The Church at West Gantt. The family will receive friends an hour prior.
