Obituary of Larry Hendrix

Larry Kenneth Hendrix, 70, husband of Darlene Medlock Hendrix for 22 years, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 11, 2024.

Mr. Hendrix was born in Fountain Inn to the late Lyman Kenneth Hendrix and Virginia Dare Peden Hendrix.  He was a member of Columbia Baptist Church.  Larry was a graduate of Greenville Technical College and retired from John D. Hollingsworth.  He enjoyed fishing and working on things, especially cars and computers.  Larry could fix just about anything and was always willing to lend a hand to family or friends in need of help.  He adored his grandkids and was a wonderful “Pa” to them.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Greg Hendrix with wife Susan; a step-daughter, Tanya Kennedy with husband Tare; four grandchildren, Brady Hendrix, Griffin Hendrix, Michael Shaw and Jessica Shaw; and three great-grandchildren, Lathan, Jase and Anastyn.  He was predeceased by a sister, Pat Jones.

A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be 3 o’clock Thursday at Columbia Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
