Obituary of Margaret Steele Chasteen Childress Looper

Margaret Childress Looper, 87, of Piedmont. wife of the late William A Looper and Jack S. Childress, went to be with the Lord on May 25th, 2017.

She was the daughter of the late Elijah and Jesse Chasteen.

Margaret is survived by sons; Bobby (Randee) Childress, Billy (Jennifer) Childress, Sammy (Vera Jo) Childress, Joe (Rhonda) Childress, Tommy (Nancy) Looper, all of Piedmont. Ted (Sherry) Childress of Pelzer. Roy (Fay) Childress of Fountain Inn, as well as a sister, Betty Lou Davis of Piedmont, seventeen grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.

Margaret was predeceased by a sister, Thelma Craine, daughters, Jacqueline Owens and Shelby Garrison and a son, Pete Looper.

She was a member of Southside Baptist Church of Piedmont, and a teacher of the women's Sunday school class.

A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday May 28th, 2:00pm at Southside Baptist Church, 15 Southside Circle, Piedmont, SC.

Burial will be Monday May 29th, 10:00 am at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Open Arms Hospice as well as Wanda Smith and Nancy Looper for the wonderful care they provided.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to Southside Baptist Church.
