Obituary of Ed Begley, Sr.

Edward Kevin “Ed” Begley, Sr., 56, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 12, 2024.

Mr. Begley was born in Rockville Centre, NY to the late Martin Joseph Begley, Jr. and Jean Dolores Seguer Begley.  Ed was a broker with National Restaurant Properties and the co-owner of Empire Deli.  He enjoyed pickleball, kayaking, boating, movies, cooking for others, poker and golf.  Ed loved spending time with his children and friends.  He loved walking his dogs Rebar and Bandit through the park and was always ready with a good “dad” joke.  He was of course a NY Giants fan.

Surviving are his companion, Liz Cole; two sons, Eddie Begley, Jr. and Michael Begley; step-children, Isaac Smith, Benjamin Smith with wife Taylor, Sarah Smith, and Leah Ivey with husband Cooper; a brother, Marty Begley III with wife Lydia; and three sisters, Debbie Begley, Diane Morgese with husband Tony, and Dolores Begley with husband Diego Pesantez.

A Celebration of Ed’s Life will be 2 o’clock Sunday at Fletcher Funeral Service.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
