Grace Thomason Obituary

Grace Sims Thomason, 94, widow of Billy Burke Thomason, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 29, 2024.

Mrs. Thomason was born in Gray Court to the late Jim James Sims and Mattie Gertrude Williams Sims. She was a member of Lexington Baptist Church and before being moving to West Columbia, she and Billy were longtime members of Brushy Creek Baptist Church. She worked many years as a book keeper for her husband’s company, North Pleasantburg Tire. Grace enjoyed reading her bible and listening to gospel music, especially when her husband Billy sang. Grace loved spending time with her family and being a MeMa/Grandma to her grandchildren. Grace was known for speaking her mind and that is something people loved and respected her for. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and authenticity that will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

Surviving, are a daughter, Lynn Sealey (Dennis); a son Ronald Owens; eleven grandchildren, Josh Sealey (Kansas), Sarah Bishop (Maverick), Danielle Casper (Curtis), Dana Thomason, Donavon Thomason (Christy), Micheal Owens, Sabrina Owens, Kenny Baldwin (Janet), Tim Baldwin (Debbie), Tracy McClain (Mark), and Christopher Neibel; sixteen great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Phil Thomason; a daughter, Libby Neibel; and two sisters, Julia Collins and Willie Jane Craddock.

The family would like to send our sincere thanks to Jenni-Lynn Assisted Living in West Columbia and All Seasons Hospice in Irmo for their compassionate care of our mother. We are forever grateful.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm Friday at Fletcher Funeral Service. The family will receive friends an hour prior. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
