Obituary of Geneva Riddle

Please share a memory of Geneva to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Geneva Valentine Riddle, 84, wife of Broadus Gerald Riddle for 66 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 25, 2024.

Mrs. Riddle was born in Cosby, TN to the late Willis Oscar Valentine and Pearl Forrester Valentine.  She was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church.  She was extremely smart and proud of being a member of the Beta Club.  Geneva retired from Texize with over 30 years of service.  She relished her role as a housewife and put great energy into caring for her family.  Geneva and Gerald thoroughly enjoyed their camping trips together over the years. She loved to sew and go shopping for shoes; however, her main joy was being MaMa to her grandchildren.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, Scott Riddle; a daughter, Susan Register with husband Michael; a brother, Terpin Valentine; a foster sister, Margaret McCoy; three grandchildren, Heath Register with wife Ashley, Haley Satterfield with husband Ethan, and Dylan Riddle with fiancé Alyssa; and four great-grandchildren, Rhetlynn, Brooks, Ripken and Leighton.  She was predeceased by eight brothers, Dewey Valentine, Junior Valentine, Walker Valentine, Reece Valentine, U.L. Valentine, Boyd Valentine, Verner Valentine and Jack Valentine.

Graveside services will be 11 o’clock Wednesday at Graceland East Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the mausoleum chapel of the cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Connie Maxwell Children’s Home, 810 Maxwell Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.
