Obituary of Charlie Jerry Jenkins

Charlie Jerry Jenkins, 75, husband of Ann Thackston Jenkins for 51 years, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 11, 2017.

Mr. Jenkins was born in Black Mountain, NC to the late L.C. Jenkins and Virgie Silvers Jenkins.  He retired from GE and was a veteran of the US Army.  He was a member of Rabun Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and custodian.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two brothers and their wives, David and Gail Jenkins, and Larry and Janice Jenkins; two sisters, Betty Flack and Nancy Altman and husband Alva; and his two cherished Shih-tzu’s, Molly and Benji.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Ray Jenkins and L.B. Jenkins; and a sister, Ann Rainey.

Funeral services will be 3 pm Wednesday at Rabun Creek Baptist Church.  Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1:30 – 3 p.m.
