Loretta Joy Brooks Patterson, 86, widow of Earl Patterson, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 20, 2024.

Mrs. Patterson was born in Raleigh County, WV to the late Ott Lee Brooks and Lona Faye Bailey Brooks. She was a member of Mauldin First Baptist Church where she was an active cook for many church functions. Joy enjoyed sewing, traveling, bird watching and helping people. She collected Angel figurines and Ole-Time Santas. She cherished being “Grandma Joy” to her grandchildren.

Surviving are two sons, Ken Bailey with wife Reda, and Gary Bailey with wife Charito; three daughters, Loretta Lovelace with husband Bill, Lisa Bailey with husband GT, and Teresa Bailey; three brothers; four sisters; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband and the love of her life, Posey Joe Bailey; a second husband, Jake Petri; a daughter, Patty Bailey; one brother; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be 3 o’clock Sunday at Fletcher Funeral Service. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will be 1 o’clock Tuesday in Bailey Brooks Bunch Cemetery in Maple Meadow, WV.
