Obituary of Arthur Magsamen, Jr.

Arthur George “Art” Magsamen, Jr., 90, husband of 26 years to Sue Chatham Magsamen, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 28, 2024.

Mr. Magsamen was born in Baltimore, MD to the late Arthur George Magsamen, Sr. and Helen Moore Magsamen. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. Art was an insurance agent for many years. He owned and operator Allstate Insurance Agency in Towson, MD where he eventually retired. He was an equestrian enthusiast and enjoyed traveling. After retirement he and Sue enjoyed glamping along the east coast with friends. Art also enjoyed researching, dealing and trading of automobiles.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are five daughters, Donna Magsamen (Steven Fisher), twin daughters, Susan Magsamen (Richard Huganir) and Sandra Magsamen (Mark Barry), daughters, Karen Botti (Robert Botti) and Lisa Magsamen Hamm (Paul Hamm); two step-sons, Greg Thomas (Lisa) and Scott Thomas (Lesley); eight grandchildren, Christopher McMahon (Angie), Matthew McMahon, Sean McMahon (Tasha), Alexander Fisher, Samuel Garrett, Benjamin Garrett, Hannah Barry (Emad Al Soufi), and Sarah Tuccitto; four step-grandchildren, Justin Thomas, Brooke Thomas, Luke Thomas (Kelsey) and Clayton Thomas; eight great-grandchildren, Kage McMahon, Jace McMahon, Triston McMahon, Kellen McMahon, Kaija McMahon, Braden McMahon, Colin McMahon, and Kieran McMahon; and a great-great-grandson, Lennox McMahon.

Funeral services, with military honors, will be held at 11 o’clock Monday at Fletcher Funeral Service. Entombment will follow 11 o’clock Tuesday in the mausoleum of Graceland East Memorial Park.
