Obituary of Anita Christopher

Anita Vaughan Christopher, 89, wife of 56 years to Max L. Christopher, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 4^th, 2024.

Mrs. Christopher was born in Lauren County to the late Zeddie Charles Vaughan and Goldie Patton Vaughan. She was a member of Rabun Creek Baptist Church. She was an alumna of Spartanburg Methodist College and University of South Carolina. Anita was a school teacher for several years, where she taught at various schools in both, North and South Carolina. She enjoyed playing the piano, often as a duo with Max singing. She also enjoyed camping and traveling to the mountains with the family. She loved flowers and creating floral arrangements.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Gloria Huse with husband Scott; a step daughter, Rita Stockwell with husband Bob; a sister, Jean Wham; two grandchildren, Austin Galli with husband Zack Kennedy and Owen Huse; two step-grandchildren, Brandon Highlander with wife Bella and Drayton Highlander; and two step-great-great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Lillian Highlander.

A Celebration of Anita’s Life will be 3 o’clock Sunday at Fletcher Funeral Service. The family will receive friends an hour prior. Burial will follow in Rabun Creek Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will be at the home of Scott and Gloria Huse, 107 Wingcup Way, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
