Patricia Smith Pinckney, 86, went to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

Patricia was born in Varnville, to the late Edgar Eldrich Smith and Amanda Elizabeth Long Smith. She was a member of Standing Springs Baptist Church. Patricia loved gathering family and friends for holiday celebrations, and decorating the home for all occasions. She enjoyed flea marketing and yard sales. Patricia created beautiful flower arrangements and gifted to loved ones. She also loved sharing stories about time spent with her mother and sisters.

Surviving are two sons, Frank Pinckney (Alison), and Van Pinckney (Rebecca); daughter-in-law, Melanie Pinckney Smith; eight grandchildren, Brandy Hexamer (Nathan), Karmen Dennis (Chris), Ben Pinckney (Julia), Ian Pinckney (Jenna), Logan Hannu (Darryl), Damian Pinckney (Olivia), Palmer Pinckney (Brianna) and Haley Pinckney; fourteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by six sisters, Edyce Smith, Marjorie Matthews, Erlette Smith, Lois Johnson, Delia Reynolds and Miriam Kalinowsky. She was the last surviving of her siblings. She was predeceased by a son, David Pinckney.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Patricia’s caregivers, Cindy Powell, Debbie Cathcart, and Faith Duff for their love and support given to Patricia and family.

Funeral services will be held 1 o’clock Saturday at Standing Springs Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Jordan Cobb. The family will receive friends immediately following service. The burial will be private.
