Betty Jean Owings Cooper, 92, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 23, 2024.
Ms. Cooper was born in Enoree to the late Taft Burgess and Oraa Owings. She was a member of First Baptist Simpsonville. Jean was a graduate of Draughns Business School and retired as an executive secretary with Dan River Textiles. She enjoyed floral gardening and sewing. She was a collector of clowns, thimbles and state spoons.
Surviving are two sons, Terry Cooper with wife Judy, and Stacey Cooper; three grandchildren, Stephen Cooper with wife Mary Beth, David Cooper, and Stephanie Davis with husband Scott; and six great-grandchildren, Eli, Marshall, Hattie, Easton, Gideon and Wrigley. She was predeceased by a son, Mike Cooper; and a sister, Dot Turner.
A Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held at 2 o’clock Tuesday in the Chapel of First Baptist Simpsonville. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Cannon Memorial Park.
